Teeth Whitening is not harmful

Research has shown that tooth whitening as done by dentists is not harmful to teeth. The active whitening agent used by dentists is called carbamide peroxide.

  • ‘In addition to its anti-bacterial and anti-caries properties, carbamide peroxide has beneficial effects on gingival health’.
  • ‘Elevation of salivary pH by carbamide peroxide also allays fears that acidic bleaching agents may cause enamel erosion’.
